Course: Lei/Pua Culture - Aloha Fridays

Time: 10 am-1 2:30 pm

Where: Nā Kūpuna Makamae Center

Cost: $10/per class

Learn how to be green and stay green by using fresh flowers and foliage from around the island to make a beautiful kūpeʻe or two to take home. Pua from your own garden is welcome too! Flowers for the kūpeʻe depend on what is available and/or donated to the class for that week. We make sure to use natural resources to make beautiful creations, so join us today!

*Leis are only done on special occasions.

*Students are required to take a few classes in order to move up to a Lei po’o. Approval from the kumu (teacher) is required and there may be an additional fee for supplies.

Supplies needed:

Scissor (required)

Small Towel (required)

Recycle Plastic Bag (required)

Any pua (flowers) or greenery you may want to share (optional)

All other materials provided.

Summer Series

June/July/August (dates TBD): This will be a longer series related to fashion. Everyone will be expected to make a lei po'o and relate it to Hawaiian fashion.
